FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS THINGS TO KNOW
- What do we need to bring? What do you provide? Who has to wear a life jacket when on the boat?
Please bring towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, beach hat, your choice of beverages, and food/snacks. No alcoholic beverages are sold at Crab Island, so BYOB, but please no glass bottles. Also, we do not have a license to provide alcoholic beverages, but we do provide a cooler with ice to keep your drinks nice and cold, and we do provide bottled water.
You may want to bring a water proof cell phone case if your cell phone is not waterproof. We do have a few phone chargers on board, but you may want to bring one along with you, too. We also provide a bluetooth stereo system so you can connect and listen to your favorite music.
Plus, we provide Bote floating chairs, a giant lilypad, inflatables, floats, water hammock, nerf footballs, frisbees, paddle board, snorkel gear, and more. Also, bring a light jacket during certain months in the event the weather is a little chilly.
We provide life jackets for everyone, but children 6 and under are required to wear a life jacket while the boat is underway.
- Are your cruises kid friendly? Is there an age limit?
Your kiddos are going to love it! However, we DO NOT permit children under the age of 2 years old for safety reasons. We provide life jackets, floats, and promise tons of fun for the entire family. Also, children 6 and under are REQUIRED to wear a life jacket when the boat is underway.
- Do I need to bring cash? What about an ID?
Vendors at Crab Island will take credit cards, or cash. Our captains appreciate cash tips, and the normal rate is 20% based on the service that you receive.
It is always a good idea to have your ID with you. Although, Crab Island does not sell alcohol, and we do not have a license to sell alcohol, the Coast Guard could stop us at anytime for a periodic check, and they may ask to see your ID if you are consuming alcohol on the boat. We are not responsible for any underage drinking.
- Is there parking there? How early should we arrive?
Since Parking is very limited due to the high number of people enjoying paradise, we strongly encourage you to find an authorized ride-share vehicle to take you to the East Dock in front of the Edge restaurant for drop off and pickup. There is also public parking across the street for approximately $15.00 per day, or you can enjoy a meal at the Edge restaurant prior to departure and park in their private lot.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. We encourage our passengers to use the bathroom prior to departure. There are public restrooms at the dock and in nearby restaurants.
- How many people are permitted on the boat?
The maximum number of people allowed on our boat is six (6) passengers. We have a (4) four passenger minimum to operate the boat, and may need to reschedule if less than minimum is not met. Charters with more than (6) six passengers will need multiple boats. CONTACT US FOR AVAILABILITY AND RATES.
- How do I cancel my trip?
Please check with our booking agent regarding our refund policy. Also, you may go to our Terms and Conditions page under the Privacy Policies & More tab. Note: You must notify us within 48 hours of cancellation to receive a full refund of your payment. There will not be a refund of your payment for cancellations less than 48 hours.
Our captains have the right to cancel trips due to weather related incidents, emergencies, and/or unforseen circumstances. You will then be asked to either reschedule your trip, or receive a full refund.
